OfflineVault

Terms of service

The deal, in plain English.

What you get when you buy an OfflineVault plan, how renewal and cancellation work, and what happens when a plan ends.

Last updated 21 October 2026.

Who you are dealing with

OfflineVault is run by OfflineVault (sole trader, United Kingdom). These terms apply when you buy a plan at https://offlinevault.dev. Stripe takes the payment on our behalf. By paying you agree to these terms. Nothing here takes away rights you have under UK consumer law.

What is free and what is paid

The app and its engine are free software under the GPL-3.0. You can use them with your own content, for as long as you like, without paying and without an account.

A plan buys access to the OfflineVault content service: a checked, signed library of reference books, manuals, maps and assistant models, refreshed every month and downloaded into the app. The books and manuals come from public sources under their own licences, such as Wikipedia under CC BY-SA and public-domain government manuals. What you pay for is the work of gathering, checking, signing and keeping them current.

Plans

Prices are in US dollars. Stripe shows the amount, and any conversion, before you pay.

Renewal, cancellation and lapse

Core and Household renew automatically at the end of each term until you cancel. Cancel at any time by replying to your Stripe receipt. You keep access until the end of the term you paid for. If a renewal payment fails, access continues for 7 days while Stripe retries the card, then the plan lapses.

When a plan lapses, updates stop. Nothing else changes. Everything you already downloaded keeps working, with no time limit, and you can export all of it from the app.

Licence keys and Macs

Each plan comes with one licence key. The key activates up to the number of Macs the plan allows. You can remove a Mac from the key in the app and activate another in its place. The key is for you and your household. Please do not publish it or sell access to it.

Refunds

A full refund within 14 days of purchase, on request. The details are on the refunds page.

Not advice

OfflineVault is a library and a search tool. The assistant summarises what is in your library and cites the page. It is not a doctor, a lawyer or an emergency service. Read the cited source and follow local authorities. We do not promise that any answer is complete or correct.

Our responsibility

We provide the content service with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise it is available at every moment or that every book is free of errors. The sources are public and we pass them on as they are. We are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable when you bought the plan, or that was caused by something outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes

If we change these terms, the new version goes on this page with a new date. A change that makes an existing plan worse for you does not apply until your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you also keep the consumer protections of the place you live.
